Previous WCS attendees have recommended this hotel. It is on the N side of Queen Street, E of Coxwell Avenue and near the intersection with Kingston Road, and about one mile SE of the symposium site at Monarch Park Collegiate.

Last year's special rate for the symposium has been extended yet again this year: $129.95 (approximately) plus 4% Municipal Accommodation tax, plus 13% HST tax, per room, for one or two persons; each additional person, to a total of four, costs an additional $20. The rate includes Continental breakfast 6am-10am, free WiFi and limited free parking.

If you are interested in the meeting room facilities contact GM Bill Chemij for further details at 416-694-1177x304 or email

Reservations can be made by PHONE ONLY (at 416-694-1177 - Extension 0). Ask to speak to a representative to get the special rate & be sure to mention the symposium. When the recorded message starts, press 0 (zero) to get the operator at the Queen Street hotel. Do NOT go through the reservations option, since the chain office does not know about the special rate; for the same reason, do NOT use the 1-800 number. Most rooms have two beds, some only one. You might want to call around, share and save. Most rooms are non-smoking. Our contact is the Front Desk Manager Gregory Wickramasinghe at extension 308.

The price includes continental breakfast; parking is free. Parking spaces are, however, limited at the hotel. There is additional free parking available across the street.

Bed and Breakfast accommodation

There seems to be no central registry for B&Bs in Toronto. And we have no experience with any of them to help you out.

Google Bed and Breakfast Toronto to start. Two sites have particularly long lists:

Postal codes in Toronto run from M1 in the east to M9 in the west. B&Bs with postal code M4 are moderately close to the symposium site. Code M5 is the central area. For information on getting to Monarch Park from your B&B by public transit, go to Exit at the Coxwell Subway Station on the Bloor-Danforth line, walk about 10 minutes S to Monarch Park and turn left.

If you stay at a Toronto B&B, please send us your opinion of the accommodation so that we may make specific recommendations in subsequent years.
